Agata Read was born in Gdansk into an artistic family.

In 2006 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland gaining a Masters in interior design. 

Shortly after, she moved to England where she continued her studies at the University of Sussex.

Over the past few years she has been mainly working with screen print before recently returning to photography, her first love.

Her work is regularly published in a local newspaper “Hastings Independent”

In 2018 her photos have been shown as part of  the International Biennale of Photography SPACE DEFINITION in BWA in Kielce.

She is a finalist of ShowOFF 2020 Krakow Photomonth Festival. 

In 2019 she graduated from Sputnik Mentoring Programme in Warsaw where she has been researching narrative structures and documentary strategies in photography.

Agata is particularly interested in our relationship with space, place and the role it has in shaping us. She explores the familiarity of a location and our sense of home.

She lives and works in Hastings, in the south of England and is a PhD student at 

Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts.
